For Valentine’s Day, Rob at Odd Bacchus and I decided to mix it up! I picked a bottle that is near and dear to my heart, and challenged Rob to identify it.

As you’ll see, the reason this bottle is special to me is because of the person who made it.  Marisa Taylor, general manager and winemaker at Rutherford Hill Winery in Napa Valley, CA is the first winemaker I met when I was head of PR for a wine company.  Over five years, we became fast friends.

As if the challenges of running a winery and making a huge variety of consistently delicious wines (and being a rockstar mom to Ian) weren’t enough, Marisa got slammed with an even bigger challenge called cancer last year and she is battling it like a champion. So I wanted to send her a personal Valentine, by sharing one of her fantastic wines with Rob – and with you!
