Choose Rasteau for Thanksgiving #Winophiles

AOC Rasteau / AOC Rasteau

Who’s up for some gorgeous red wines with French verve and personality? The French #Winophiles are taking a trip to Rasteau this month. Each blogger has tried, tasted and probably paired a selection of Rasteau wines with some delectable dish and now we invite everyone to join us on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. Central time on Twitter to talk about Rasteau wines. Just search for #winophiles and you will find us.

Rasteau was named an AOC (Appellation Originale Controlée) in 2010, after spending decades as a Côtes du Rhone Village within the greater Côtes du Rhone appellation (since 1966). The region’s wines are almost all red (96 percent) and Grenache is the king of the hill, and its best friends are Syrah and Mourvedre.

I’d like to thank Michelle Williams at Rockin Red Blog for helping secure samples from Rhône Valley Vineyards for some participants. Here’s what we can look forward to on Saturday:
